Another card for someone very special. This card was made as a thank you for such amazing inspiration to Jill and I. If it weren’t for her sharing her wisdom and skills, we wouldn’t have a blog today, so here is the card.
Cartridges used for this card are Calligraphy Collection, Cindy Loo, Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art and Serenade.
The flowers are from Serenade and cut at a height of both 2.25 and 3.50. The flourishes are from Cindy Loo and cut at a height of 2.00, 1.30 and 1.50 from two shades of green as embellishments.
The white medallion is from MS Elegant Cake Art and cut at a height of 5.50 and inked with copper metallic ink. The butterflies are also from MS Elegant Cake Art and cut at a height of 2.00. The blackout is cut from iridescent vellum and the other two layers are cut from green and bronze paper. We layered the two together on the vellum to make the butterflies and then added some gems.
The scalloped border is from MS Elegant Cake and cut at a height of 2.90. The Because of You on the cover is from Calligraphy Collection and cut at a height of 4.00 from brown metallic card stock. Some gems were added to this as well. The sentiment on the inside was also a font from Calligraphy Collection and welded together. Letters were at a height of 1.60 before welding them.
The card itself is 5 ½” x 8 ½”… 8 ½” x 11” folded in half. The bottom mat is 5 ½” x 8 ¼”. The green mat is 4 ¾” x 7 ¾” and the top mat is 4 ½” x 7 ½”.
On the inside, all mats are the same except the white sentiment mat. This is 3 ¾” x 6 ¾”. Everything on this card has been inked with a metallic copper ink.
The envelo-box for this card was made using our Crafter’s Companion. This started as a 11 ¼” x 11 ¼” piece of paper and we used the score lines F & H on the envelope board. I used both score lines for each letter to give it the dimension needed for the thickness of the card. I used one of our Martha Stewart Lace Corner Punch sets to embellish the flap. The cover was embellished with inked scraps, an extra butterfly and a couple of flourishes. I wouldn’t normally do this for mailing, but this was sent enclosed with a gift, so why not, right? I sure hope you all enjoy it. We would love to hear your comments! Sincerely, Bobby
