This is a card for our cousin’s daughter. We sure hope she likes it. We wanted this to be girly, but still all about family.
They celebrate Gotcha day every year as their daughter is adopted. Of course they have regular birthday celebrations too, but how fun to have an extra day every year. This is a very lucky little girl. Anyway, there isn’t much out there for such an occasion, so this is what I came up with. The card is 5 ½” x 8 ½”. The bottom mat is 5 ¼” x 8 ¼”. There is a straight piece across the front of the striped paper and that is 5 ¼” wide by 3” tall. I used A Child’s Year for the little girl. She is cut at a height of 5.00 with just the black and white layer. The family label is from Lacy Labels (lovin’ that cart!) and all pieces were cut at a height of 2.50 I used 3D adhesive on the girl and family labels.
On the inside, the polka dot mat is 5 ¼” x 8 ¼” and the white sentiment mat is 4” x 7”. Everything on this card was inked with a color called smoky plum. I got this color as a prize for a contest from Close to my Heart. I LOVE THIS COLOR and the quality of the inks. You will be seeing lots more of them from us in the future. Hee! Hee!
This was a great fun card to try to think out and we hope you all enjoy it! Bobby
