The Cricut Couple 500+ Follower Celebration!

Hey Ya'll,
Well, Jill and I are SO excited!  Recently, our blog exploded with activity and we now have over 500 wonderful followers!  We consider this a HUGE milestone.  Since we missed our Blogiversary, we wanted to do something big for hitting 500 followers.  Since it blasted past that, we want to do something even bigger.  So... There is lot of information here, but we think you are all going to be very excited!  We have special Christmas projects to share with you everyday from today until the 17th of November, so let's just make it a Christmas Comes Early Party with lots of prizes and fun!  There will be giveaways along the days and we really hope you enjoy the celebration!

This post will start the celebration.  Here is what will happen over the next few days.  Since today starts it, today is the big post for the grand prize.
There are a few ways to win the grand prize.
BTW... all prizes are for followers only since this is a follower celebration.

1.  Leave a comment on today's post telling us what your favorite Christmas memory is.

2.  Share the announcement on your blog.  There is a large button you can copy above or a smaller one you can copy below.  Leave a second comment on this post if you do this so that we know.  This will give you another chance to win the grand prize.

3.  Leave a comment each day through the 17th of november telling us what you think of all of the projects.  Each time you comment, you will be entered again for a chance at the grand prize.

Below is the smaller picture if you want to use it.  Just copy away.  We don't mind.  We would have made a button, but have NO idea how to do that.  Hee! Hee!

Throughout the days of the celebration, we will have a few other items we will be giving away.  Each of those will simply require a comment on that day to be eligible.  We will use random.com for the prizes throughout.  For the grand prize, we will take everything from today's post, print it off and do a drawing.  The winner of every prize will be announced on the 18th of November, so that you will truly get Christmas Early this year.  Hee! Hee!  So... wanna know what the grand prize is?  Too keep everything totally fair, we will post the winners on the 18th of November.  Each winner will have 72 hours to claim their prize.  If they don't claim their prize within this time, we will announce a new winner, and so on until all prizes are claimed.  Since this is a Christmas Themed Celebration, any winners who already have a prize or have someone else they would like to give their prize to as a gift, we will ship it to their address for you (Within the US).

It's the fully loaded Cricut Cake Mini!!!  YAY!
You will receive the complete system with all the little tools, mat and the Cake Basics Cricut Cake Cartridge!
We thought about doing the bigger machine, but so many of us have lots of gizmos and gadgets and we thought that so many would like the mini better because of space.  So, what do you think?  Are you as excited as we are?  We just can't wait to hear everyone's comments and are so grateful for our wonderful followers!

We really appreciate you all sharing so much of your time with us and just wanted to give back.  So... Big Sweet Hugs from the Cricut Couple.  We hope you enjoy everything!

  2. Wow...how fabulous are you? Congrats on so many blog milestones and I say in all truthfulness....well deserved! I love my daily visits to your blog and always leave inspired and in awe! My fav Christmas memory has to be when my boys were about 5 and 6 years old. It was the first time we ever had Christmas away from home and they were sure that Santa would not pay a visit if we were not at OUR house. My hubby and I packed everything into a carrier on top of our minivan and headed to my grandparents house. We waited until the boys were asleep and set everything up under my grandparents tree. My boys were amazed on Christmas morning that Santa could find them a whole state away from home. And is was super special because it was the only Christmas the boys ever shared with great-grandparents, grandparents and parents! What a great day it was!

My memory was the year my son was born a very late night on the 23rd of December. I was feeling very sorry for myself being in the hospital on Christmas until they brought my little Jason in. They had him all bundled up in a little Christmas stocking! Of course all us new mommies just ooohed and ahhed over our little babies. I still am cheered up at the site of a little Christmas stocking!

  12. I just think that it is so cool that a husband and wife do this together. I can't convince my hubby to do that with me!

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was 6. My "big" present that year was a new bicycle. It was light blue with a blue banana seat adorned with clouds. It had a white and blue basket and a bell on it. Our cat was sitting on it like she owned it, lol.

  18. Wowie! This is going to be so much fun! That Cake Mini is adorable - I didn't even know there was such a thing :) And congrats on passing 500 followers - I am new to your site but LOVE it so not surprised you are growing so fast! So let me see, my favorite Christmas memory - grown up or child - that is the question. I think I will tell you a childhood memory. When I was about 8 or 9, my mother made a Barbie doll house for my sister and I. It had 2 floors and it was all decorated beautifully with carpeted or "tiled" floors, a 4-post bed in the bedroom, all the furniture, even a toilet and little TP roll in the bathroom! It was absolutely fabulous! My mom was a single parent and worked 2 jobs so many years later when I was old enough to figure it out and wonder about it, I asked where she found the time. She worked on it during her lunch break every day. That fact made my sweet memory even sweeter :) Thanks for the chance to win some fun prizes and for the projects! I love learning new things :)

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was in high school and my parents surprised me with a piccolo. I ran to my room and started playing it (yes I was a band geek!!) and I was in heaven!! A week later, I started noticing some of the other "new" things around the house that were Christmas gifts (things that were opened after I ran to my room)....like the new shower head in the bathroom LOL! I was in my own world that day!!

  29. Congrats! I love coming to your blog. You guys do great work. Thanks for such a great giveaway.
My favorite Christmas memory was two years ago. It was the last Christmas that we celebrated with my three year old nephew. That particular Christmas reminds me of what the magic of Christmas is all about. I bought him the most boring gifts a new outfit, a Curious George stuffed animal and book. He ripped into the package and immediately threw on the shirt and pants over the top of the clothes he was already wearing. Then he grabbed the book, jumped in my lap and said "wead it". The gifts I thought were pretty sub par for a three year old and his reaction to them reminded me that there is so much more to Christmas than what comes wrapped in a package. It's about the quality time spent with those we love.

My favorite Christmas memory would have to be when I was 7 (and still believed in Santa lol) and I woke up to a beautiful big dollhouse. Santa had left it in my bedroom while I was sleeping, so it was literally the first thing I saw when I woke up Christmas morning!! I was a very excited 7 year old :)

  32. Congrats on 500+. :)

My favorite Christmas memories are from my childhood before my parents got divorced. We went out every year to look for a real tree. It was a big event for us. Then we decorated the house while listening to Christmas music. I loved laying under the tree to watch tv in the evenings.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congratulations! My favorite Christmas memory was when all my brothers & their wives and my sister and her husband, along with all their kids came home and spent the night at Mom and Dads. People were sleeping everywhere!!! I was in High School and one of my sister-in-laws and I ran through the house Christmas morning, jumping on EVERYONE'S bed to wake them up! It was so fun acting like a little kid with her!

  34. OMG!!! You guys are totally unbelievable and it's so easy to see why you've gotten over 500 wonderful followers!!! Congratulations to you!!! I am so happy and excited both!!!

Good luck to all your beautiful followers -- whoever he/she may be!!!

My favorite memory of Christmas was once when my brother and I were really young we got up to find we had no presents under the tree!!! Crying and thinking we'd been bad, we woke our mother and she found a note from Santa saying he was playing hide and seek with us, and that we had to find our presents. With some "gentle" steering from our mother it took us going through 3 small closets and a hi-fi cabinet (which we normally weren't allowed to touch!)to find our gifts. My mother told us it was because Santa had put in his note we were special, so he wanted to play a special little game with US!!! We were just tooooo happy with that (silly kids)! To make a long story short, it was one of my best Christmas' and I still have fond memories of it. Years later we found out my mother had fell asleep, overslept, and had never gotten back up to put our toys under the tree that early morning; and there never was a note from Santa. I wish she'd never told us that part!!! LOL!!!

  35. Congratulations my friends!!! YAY!!! I agree with several, so so very soon you will hit 1000 and 2000 and on and on!!!!

I will post your button (If you want me to do the grab me thingy, let me know, I'll do it for you)

My favorite Xmas memory is (actually two) One-my parents were well off and gave us good present for Xmas (presents were on the tree before the 24 when we opened them at midnight, hey 12:01 is Xmas already!)...one time the presents were on the tree and my parents were gone to watch a movie...us kids thought we could not wait to see...yeap, we figure a way to open a bit to take a peek... it was Barbies (hey, in those days it was a pretty good gift not every kid got!)... Well, the priceless part was when Xmas eve came and we open presents and my Mom (very smart woman) said "blink, blink" I know you opened the presents already!! "blink blink" because of course she figured that our excitement level did not fit the excitement she expected!! LOL
The second one was that my only child was do on Dec 24-25 depending which Dr... but she was born on Epiphany or January 6th!

Thanks for reading all this!! ~Gaby

  36. what a wonderful give away and CONGRATS on 500 followers!

my favorite Christmas memory has to be from a couple years ago. my family has always celebrated with dinner and opening gifts on Christmas eve night. and My brother and I had gone out mid morning to finish Christmas shopping and on our way home I got a text from 2 of my military pen pals who were staying at a base near our home and they were telling me how they were there away from their families and we decided to invite them to our home for Christmas and my brother and I drove down to pick them up and brought them to our home. Our mama even had a couple extra blankets that she made that she wrapped up for them and my oldest brother went to the store and found something for stocking stuffers and Daddy found 2 extra stocking and put candy in them for them as well. so their stocking were filled the same as everyone else's. They pulled me aside after we opened gifts and they told me it was the best Christmas either of them have had since they were little kids. Seeing them so happy was the best gift I could of asked for.

  39. Congratulations on all of your followers, having a fairly new blog, it is so inspiring to see that you have so many followers, I'm hoping to hit 150 in the next few days, keeping my fingers crossed.

My family didn't celebrate Christmas when I was growing up, it wasn't until I had my own family that we started creating our own memories of gifts, decorations and just spending time together! My favorite memory is of my kids as babies, just having a blast ripping wrapping paper without a clue as to the gift or meaning of any of it. Just having a great time ripping up all of the paper and playing with, sweet memories!

My favorite Christmas memory: it has to be the year that our older sons were at the age that they were questioning the existence of Santa Claus. They were in bed and we were filling stockings, one of which had a bell on it. The next morning they came down stairs very excited because they heard Santa's sleighbell.... This was good for another year!

It is hard to pick a favorite Christmas memory, but this is one of my favorites. One Christmas morning my children let my husband and I sleep in until 7:00 am (a huge sacrifice for kids!!) and had cooked us breakfast. They wanted us to enjoy breakfast and sleeping in before they opened their presents. I was so touched that they would think of us first. :)

  63. Congratulations! I am so happy for you!

One of my favorite Christmas memories is when I was 7 months pregnant with my DD. My son wanted me to sleep with him, as was our tradition since he was a baby. We got the air matress out and slept on that. Well, morning came and I couldn't get up. I literally had to crawl on my knees to the wall and pull myself up. It was hilarious! I still laugh at that!

  68. I forgot to mention my favorite Christmas Memory...
It would have to be when my twin sister and I were about 9 or 10 and we knew times were rough for our mom and family financially. We got super excited because we each got a pair of fuzzy socks that we wanted. We are lucky enough to have an old VHS tape that highlights this memory and we still laugh to this day at the multitude of our excitement. A true blessing to remember and to watch and it really, for me, is the true meaning behind the Holiday. We had our necessities and our family was together, and that was all that mattered.

My favorite Christmas memory is the first time I was able to be a parent experiencing my children old enough to run into our room and wake us up to say "Mommy, Daddy, Santa came we have presents..wake up wake up"....their little voices and precious faces brought a tear to my eye! They are still young (9 & 7), but at the ages of 4 & 2 the glimmer of excitment they experienced together was truly magical!

  72. Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you. I love your blog and all your ideas and am so thankful that you share them with us!

I think the year I got my guitar would have to be my favorite memory....

I was 9 and my folks didn't wrap it or anything, they just set it on a short bookcase out of the way of the mad rush of four kids running for the tree. About an hour later, after numerous tries on EVERYONE's behalf to get me to notice it, my brother finally landed a paper airplane on it and told me to go get it for him. When I started to pick up the airplane I saw the guitar with the tag attached telling me it was my gift from Santa. I FREAKED!

  73. OMGosh! Thanks for the opportunity to win. Congrats on 500! My favorite Christmas memory is to just sit in the dark and look at all the colored lights on the tree and be warmed by the wood-burning stove. Back in the day we used a real wood-burning stove to heat our house.

  76. How exciting!! Congrats on 500! That's amazing!! My favorite memory would be Christmas Eve. Every year it is different, but we always have the same meal. A White Christmas (swedish sausage, mashed potatoes, lefse, oyster stew, everything we eat is white). Its really special and no matter where I am, I will serve that same meal on Christmas Eve. Yes its a tradition, but it makes for so many great memories!

My favorite Christmas memory would be, the year my Mama (who passed away a few short years later) gave me the crocheted throw she had been working on. She made all 5 of us kids one. I am the only one that still has mine, 30 years later. I so very much loved that Christmas that year because all the gifts were handmade with lots of love.

Thanks for the chance to win such a lovely prize.

  81. Just found your blog and know I will be spending many hours here. My favorite Christmas memory was the year my hubby and I had a friend we had staying with us go up into the attic and stomp on the floor and ring loud jingle bells above the kids room. They came running into our room and of course we were both "asleep" so excited because they were sure Santa had just left our house cause they heard the reindeer. Sure enough when we went downstairs the room was filled with presents, where no presents had been the night before. Of course Daddy had to go "wake" our guest( release from the attic) before we started to open presents. They talked about hearing Santa for months. Thanks for giving us a chance to win.

  82. Whoo Hoo Congratulations to you, two. Way to go. My favorite Christmas memory is not seeing the Christmas tree until the day of Christmas. AI loved that surprise. My parents would stay up all night decorating just to surprise us.

  83. How sad I left a BIG comment and it wouldn't post. So I will try again. What an awesome party you are throwing and I an so excited to be apart of it. My favorite Christmas is when my son graduated from high school and joined the Marines.. It was going to be our first Christmas without him...My daughter came and told me she wanted to buy me something REALLY special for Christmas. She didn't have enough money and could she borrow some from me.. (of course I said yes wondering what she could possible be buying for me..) so Christmas eve came and I am reading the Christmas story (crying because Billy wasn't home for Christmas) and she said my present had arrived but it was too big to bring into the house so I went outside and there was a HUGE box and Billy jumped out. Of course then I cried more...

I would have to say one of my favorite Christmas memory is when I was 19 years old. We do not get snow in Texas (this was a special trip to New Mexico on Christmas). It was gorgeous!

Mom and dad were folding laundry in between putting some of the gifts out. My brother had to go to the bathroom and "accidentally",lol went by the tree and saw Santa had come. My father bellowed upstairs and said he thought Santa had been scared off "cuz he heard children and told us to go to sleep. I'll never forget the night we thought we scared Santa off!

My favourite Christmas also happens to be one of my favourite memories ever. On Christmas Eve in 2008 my family were all gathered in the living room after dinner & my boyfriend at the time stood up & began making a speech. I joked on him that I can't believe he's actually making a speech to my family, who does that?? My Grandmother gave me a swift elbow to the ribs & told me to hush up. All of a sudden he got on one knee & proposed!! I was so surprised I couldn't breathe! My son (4 at the time) hollered out - "Just say yes Mom!". We've been engaged ever since!
It was also the last Christmas we have been able to spend with our extended family since being posted with the military, so that made it extra special.

  136. Now your at 501, cause I just joined! Love your work.

My favorite Christmas memory was on Christmas Eve night, my brother and sisters would lay in our bed very quietly and listen. We lived in an old house and if you touched the front door knob you'd be able to hear it jiggle anywhere in the house, but some how my dad was able to open the front door without us hearing the jiggle and ring the door bell and talk like he was Santa with my mom. He also made sure we had the biggest tree ever each and every year. We may not of had a lot of money, but my parents never let on about that at Christmas. They are the best parents EVER! Not only the gifts they gave but the love and teaching they gave us were priceless.

I have 2 favorite Christmas memories, one is an old one and one is a new one. My old memory is spending time at Grandma and Grandpas house on Christmas with all my cousins. Since we no longer gather as an extended family on that side no longer, it is really a time missed.
my new memory is spending Christmas Eve with my own children (10 and 12) and my husband. I make us all new holiday pajamas that everyone gets to open after dinner that evening and there is always a new family movie in the package - we make popcorn, play a game and watch a movie before getting to bed so that Santa can come.

My favorite Christmas memory is easy for me to remember. We lived on a farm in a rural area and I was about 8. My Mom had cancer and was away at the hospital taking treatments for quite a while.

She got to come home for Christmas and I was so happy! I saw she was pale, thin and sick, but to have my family together again was all I wanted. My Dad gave us both Bibles that year in a cedar box case that was beautiful!

I don't remember getting toys or anything else, just my Mom and my Bible. Years later I found out the Dr.'s sent my Mom home to die. There was nothing more that could be done.

But, God had another plan. She began to get her strength and was better. She went back to the Dr. and they couldn't understand when they scanned and there was no tumor or trace of it or the cancer.

That was over 30 years ago and my Mother and I still love Christmas and the memories we make together with our family and we serve God with our whole hearts.

Years later my Dad became a preacher and I married one! Lol Christmas is truly my favorite time of the year! Thanks for allowing me to share my memories!

My favorite Christmas Holiday Memory. I remember every year my mom would say we not gone open your gifts till Christmas. Each day we would ask can we open I’m gifts. She would say no. But on Christmas Eve we would say can we open our gift; and my MOM would still say No right up to bed time we would ask and because Christmas day was the next day she would give in.

  163. I am a brand new follower. I found your blog when visiting cuteandsome. I am new with using the cricut machine. I make cakes and this would be such a wonderful thing to use. Not as profession but for friends at work. My favorite Christmas was when I was first married. I got to meet his family for the first time at Christmas and I never felt so much apart of a family as that first dinner. It makes me feel love just thinking about it. No blog for me, but I would announce this if I had a blog. Going to check out your other stuff. Thanks for chance to win.

  170. Congratulations on 500+ followers! My favorite Christmas memory is making homemade padaha(I'm not quite sure on the spelling) with my aunt and mom. It's pretty much the Ukranian Christmas dinner tradition form of pierogies. We make saurkraut filled padaha and cheesy potato filled ones. Soooo yummy!!!

  172. Back again to let you know that I posted about your giveaway - as well as all your wonderful Christmas card creations - on my blog. However, the first time I left a comment, I did not tell you about my special Christmas memory and it's one that continues to fill me with love and joy so I'd like to share it now.

When I was a young child, we moved from England to Canada, leaving all of our extended family back home. A couple of years later, we returned for a visit over the Christmas holidays. We stayed with my Granny and Granddad and so enjoyed our time getting ready for Christmas with them. On Christmas Eve, we hung our stockings and went to bed. After we were asleep, my grandparents took silver glitter and created a path from the chimney, to the stockings and even up the stairs and down the halls, to the doors of our bedrooms, as though Father Christmas himself had been through the house and left some of his magical "dust" behind. I still remember waking up Christmas morning and being so excited to see the magic dust through the house - and to think that Father Christmas had even come to have a peek in on me!! It was by far my best Christmas ever - and I wonder if my grandparents were ever able to vacuum up all that dust!! (This was the early 70s - so vacuums were not what there are today!!)

Thanks for letting me share my memory of a special Christmas - and be reminded of the love that my grandparents had for me. That's a huge part of what Christmas is all about!

  173. Congrats on 500 followers! Here's to 500 more.

My favorite memory of Christmas as a kid was the entire Christmas Eve / Christmas morning celebration. Each year my family would attend church on Christmas Eve and then go to my grandma's or aunt's to celebrate with my dad's family. We'd get home late and go straight to bed so Santa could come to our house. Then on Christmas morning, we would wake up early, but had to wait upstairs until our parents gave us the go-ahead to go into the family room where Santa had been. We'd open our stockings and pass out presents, then we would have a big breakfast, and spend the next couple hours opening gifts. Christmas morning would always last for hours on end. I loved it.

  177. My favorite Christmas memory is the year I bought my daughter a cell phone. She was genuinely excited and the look on her face was priceless. I couldn't believe I actually made her think she wasn't getting a phone. I will never forget that day!

  178. So excited to have found you guys! Your blog is so much fun and the cards are beautiful!!! My fav. memory is not just one specific moment, but rather the fact that even on the hard years my parents always made sure that Christmas morning was special filled with presents galore under the tree... and how we weren't allowed to come down the stairs until our mom had the video camera recording us coming down and seeing the tree Christmas morning... and now I do the same with my little ones! Love it thank you for reminding me of that!
